A real estate agent who has been wrapped up in his own life suddenly has his life turned upside down when his estranged son shows up at his door, complete with the granddaughter he's never met. The young girl is entrusted to her grandfather's care, leaving the older man at a loss for how to deal with her. Knowing he must turn to someone for help in taking care of the child, he reaches out to his lovable next-door neighbor, and, slowly but surely, he learns how to care for other people. He may even find himself learning how to fall in love.
