On opposite sides of Orange Drive in the suburbs of New Jersey, two families have been best friends and neighbors for years. Terry and Cathy Ostroff happily welcome their daughter Nina home for Thanksgiving after an absence of five years. She has ended her long-term relationship with her fiance Ethan, and the Ostroffs push her to pay special attention to Toby, the son of their best friends David and Paige Walling. Instead of forming a relationship with Toby like her parents wanted, however, Nina develops an unexpected attraction to David, and the connection between the two becomes too powerful for them to ignore. When their illicit relationship is discovered, everyone is affected and their lives are tossed into chaos. Further complicating matters is the reaction of Vanessa Wallings, Nina?s best friend since childhood and the daughter of her lover, who is understandably conflicted by the relationship. Soon the consequences of the affair begin to work on all of the family members, and not necessarily in a bad way. Everyone must reassess what they want in their lives and how to go about achieving it, no matter what the cost may be in the end.
