In the year 2023, a new team of scientists restart the Quantum Leap project, hoping to understand the mysteries behind the machine and its creator, Dr. Sam Beckett. The team is led by Dr. Al Calavicci, who was Sam's partner in the original project. Together, they hope to find a way to bring Sam back from the Quantum Leap accelerator, where he has been trapped for 30 years. The team soon discovers that the Quantum Leap accelerator is more than just a time machine. It is also a portal to other universes, and each time Sam leaps, he lands in a different body in a different time period. He must use his knowledge of the future to help people in the past, while also trying to find a way to get back to his own time.
