Air is a 2023 sports drama film about the creation of the Air Jordan shoe. The film tells the story of Sonny Vaccaro, a Nike executive who risks his career to sign Michael Jordan to a shoe deal. Despite the objections of his colleagues, Vaccaro believes that Jordan is the future of basketball and that Nike needs to sign him in order to stay ahead of the competition. The film follows Vaccaro as he travels to North Carolina to meet with Jordan and his family. Vaccaro must overcome Jordan's initial reluctance to sign with Nike, as well as the opposition of Jordan's agent, David Falk. In the end, Vaccaro's persistence pays off, and he successfully signs Jordan to a shoe deal that would change the course of both Nike and Jordan's careers.
