Insidious: The Red Door follows the Lamberts as they must go deeper into The Further than ever before to put their demons to rest once and for all. The film opens with the Lamberts still reeling from the events of the previous films. Dalton, who was in a coma for several years, is now seeing strange things in his dreams. His parents, Josh and Renai, are convinced that he is being haunted by the same demons that have plagued them in the past. When Dalton begins to exhibit increasingly disturbing behavior, Josh and Renai take him to see Elise Rainier, a parapsychologist who has helped them in the past. Elise tells them that Dalton is being pulled into The Further, a dark and dangerous realm where spirits can linger after death. The Lamberts must now travel to The Further themselves to rescue Dalton and put an end to the demons that have been tormenting their family. However, the further they travel into The Further, the more dangerous it becomes.
