In 1970?s Los Angeles, a mother is suspected of child endangerment. Despite her warnings, a social worker and her own children are pulled into this frightening realm. The legendary, malevolent spirit of La Llorona attempts to attack, and perhaps kill the children if she can not complete her preference of taking the children for herself. In a desperate attempt to save the lives of their children, the mothers turn to a priest and his frowned upon practices to keep the evil spirit at bay.
