Matt is a mid-40's app developer trying to feel hopeful about life and the future even though he's alone and has no children or spouse. When many others his age would have a mid-life crisis founded in hopelessness, Matt realizes that he doesn't need a significant other to have a child and looks into surrogate services... Matt is eventually matched to a twenty-something barista and loner named Anna. After they meet, they agree to move forward with a contract. Yet, neither Matt or Anna know how to navigate the new connection between them that's literally growing inside of Anna. They soon realize that they must determine their boundaries and whether to become friends or much more.
