6.6In King Arthur?s court, Sir Gawain is a headstrong knight who also happens to be Arthur's nephew. During the court?s New Year?s Eve celebration, the Knights of the Round Table receive a strange visitor who only identifies himself as the Green Knight. He offers an opportunity for any of the knights to strike him with ?one free blow? ?- on the condition that the Green Knight is allowed to return the blow one year later.
