Elisa is totally mute and tends to isolate herself from the world around her. While doing work in a secret, high-security lab run by the government, Elisa's life changes forever. She discovers an underground experiment that no one is supposed to know about and which involved a create that is more mysterious than can be imagined. The creature and Elisa befriend each other out of sheer loneliness, which results in a bond that Elisa has never been able to have with another human. Elisa now needs to keep her relationship a secret despite discovering her one true love in a laboratory.
