Eleanor arrives at the Good Place with no memory of how she got there. Michael, the architect of the town, explains to Eleanor the details of her death. Eleanor learns from Michael that the Good Place is a town where only the very best people go upon their deaths. While taking a tour of the Good Place and being introduced to her new neighbors, Eleanor realizes that she is not meant to be there. With the help of her soulmate, Chidi, Eleanor devises a plan to start doing good things to earn her spot in the Good Place.
