The Americans is an FX original series starring Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings. Set in the 1980's in the midst of the Cold War, Elizabeth and Phillip are two KGB officers posing as a married American couple. Though they appear to be the typical American family, they are far from it. The series follows the couple's jobs as Soviet spies, as well as their relationship with one another, their children (who believe they are the typical American family), their FBI counterintelligence neighbor, Stan Beeman, and others. As they dive deeper into their jobs for the Russian government, they explore what it means to fight for what you believe in, and discover the true costs of their secret lives and jobs.
