Fresh Off the Boat is a sitcom of an asian-american family that is based off the book by chef Eddie Huang that currently airs on ABC. The show is about a family originally from Taiwan who moves to Washington D.C., then Orlando after the father buys a steakhouse restaurant. It is a fish out of water story, for the entire family. It centers though on oldest son, Eddie, trying to navigate being an Asian kid who loves rap and hip-hop music against his mother's need for him to grow up to be a good Asian boy.
