Aquarius follows two law enforcement agents in Los Angeles in 1967. Sam Hodiak is a detective, and Brian Shafe is a narcotics agent on an undercover assignment. During an investigation, both men come into contact with Charles Manson. Shafe and Hodiak are far different officers but share a belief in their line of work. While dealing with Manson, the two officers continue their search for Emma, a missing 16 year-old. Hodiak faces a city and rising culture that he barely recognizes. Shafe is more accustomed to the radical culture. As they deal with Manson, the stakes rise and time starts to run out in the search for Emma.
