Doctor Who is a British science fiction program about a rebellious, arrogant, insanely intelligent time-traveling alien from the planet Gallifrey. He believes he is the sole survivor of the Gallifreyan race. He travels with numerous companions that he is anxious to take with him on his adventures so that he doesn't have to remember his utter loneliness. The companions ultimately become his friends and his family. Each episode opens its audience up to more facets of his personality, the dark and tortured soul who has seen too many realities torn asunder by his own hands. As a result of these experiences, the Doctor has become a champion of the universe trying to right its wrongs.
