The Happy Endings series is the story of six best friends and their dysfunctional adventures. In the beginning, the six friends, all who live in Chicago, must deal with changing group dynamics after the break-up of Dave and Alex, the couple ultimately responsible for forming the group of fast friends in the first place. The eclectic mix includes Brad, a conscientious overachieving businessman and his neurotic wife Jane who are madly in love. Alex, Jane's younger sister is a jolly, care-free boutique owner who was once engaged to Dave, a food truck driver who is a wanna be restaurateur. Max is a slacker who has a problem keeping a job and staying in a relationship. Penny is a single girl forever on the search for Mr. Right and fearing a lifetime of spinsterhood. Their adventures include trying to remain friends and the complications of choosing sides after the breakup of Dave and Alex. Each episode features two plot lines with different combinations of the characters and the situations they find themselves in.
