In 17th century New England a Puritan family is banished from their community to eke out a living on the edge of the wilderness, in the "kingdom of God." Father William and Mother Katherine teach their children to place thy faith in God. That faith is tested when their infant son disappears while being watched by his sister Thomasin, Thomasin is then accused of witchcraft and the family unravels as they are faced with unknown forces of evil in the woods. Black magic, witchcraft and possession are explored in a tense and dismally austere environment.
