Loosely based on the classic short stories of Washington Irving, Sleepy Hollow is a unique blend of literature, history, religion, and supernatural thrills. After defeating the otherworldly Headless Horseman during the Revolutionary War, colonial soldier Ichabod Crane is put under a spell that causes him to sleep for two and a half centuries, waking up in the small, modern-day town of Sleepy Hollow. While struggling to adjust to a very different America than the one he knew, Ichabod befriends tough but troubled police lieutenant Abbie Mills, just as the Horseman is making his return and attempting to usher in the apocalypse as foretold in the biblical Book of Revelation. Together, Ichabod and Abbie must protect the small town from supernatural threats such as ghosts, witches, and monsters, while piecing together a complex mystery that dates back to the early days of America, Ichabod?s personal life, and the founding fathers themselves.
