Steve McGarrett is a former Navy seal who is in charge of Five-0. This is a specialized police force that answers only to the governor of Hawaii. They are tasked with the jobs that are deemed important either because of the crime committed or the people who have committed them. His team consists of Danny Williams, a transplant from New Jersey who followed his ex-wife and their daughter Grace to Hawaii. Lieutenant Kelly worked with Steve's father and is recruited for the team not only for his skills but for his help in solving the death of Steve's father. His cousin, Kono, is a rookie cop and is the final member of the elite team. They also get help from people like Kamekona, who runs a shrimp eatery, and Catherine, a former Navy officer who has a personal relationship with McGarrett. The Five-0 members must solve murders, thefts, kidnappings and more, but they also have problems in their own lives to deal with as well. McGarrett is trying to find his father's killer, Danny is learning how to put his child ahead of his work, Kelly is dealing with deaths in his family, and Kono has a relationship with a mobster's son.
